The Costume of Chinese Miao Ethnic Group
Chinese historical records indicate that the Miao ethnic group used to live along the Yellow River, much earlier than other ethnic groups in China. Because of wars and changes in everyday world, the many tribes of Miao gradually moving south. These strains have developed different lifestyles and different clothing in cultural exchanges with other nationalities, maintaining their traditions.

There are significant differences in dress and personal adornment among the various tribes. For the Miao people in the western part of Hunan Province, wear Han costumes popular for women (the majority of Chinese people) and the Manchus in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). Miao women Rongjiang Congjiang and counties of Guizhou Province and County Rongshui the autonomous region of Guangxi Zhuang have almost the same fields.
