Acrobatics is a pearl in the treasure of traditional Chinese art scene. Chinese acrobatics has a rich and ancient heritage.
The acrobatic art does not exist in China for over two thousand years. From the warring States Period (475-221 BC) gave the basics of acrobatics. Since the dynasty of the Han (221 BC-220 AD), the acrobatic art or Hundred Plays developed the content and diversity. According to the Tang Dynasty, the number of acrobats greatly increased and skills much improved performance.
The Lion DanceIn the long course of development of the Chinese acrobatic art has created its own style. The ancient acrobatics originated from people’s lives and had a close relationship with their life and productive work. Work equipment, such as the Trident rings wicker chairs, tables, glasses, plates and cups used in performances of Flying Trident , Balance on Chairs , Pot-trick and Hoop Diving . Wushu and Lion Dance from sports and folk games. All of these actions was to acrobatic performances throughout China on the agenda. Even with a long history of development and enjoy great popularity among the stunt people in the old China did not take place in theaters, because it seemed, was down to the next grade.
Modern Times
From the middle of this century, great efforts to promote and develop national arts and acrobatics gained a new life. All provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions have their own acrobatic troupes. Artists veterans have a better opportunity to show their abilities. The acrobats in modern China have an idea and create a system of government, graceful stage images, harmonious musical accompaniment, and bring a good result in support of costumes, props and lighting to create a fully developed stage art.
The current status of Chinese acrobatics reflects industry, ingenuity and courage to discourage the United Nations of the Chinese people. During the last forty years and more, many Chinese acrobatic troupes over one hundred countries and territories around the world, touring and promoting friendship and cultural exchanges. Today there are over 120 acrobatic troupes above the county level, and over 12,000 people involved in the implementation.
